Terms of service

By using StepCast you agree to these terms.

The service

StepCast has a Free plan and a paid Pro plan, described on the pricing page. The service is provided as it is, without any guarantee that it will always be available or free of errors. Features and the limits of the Free plan may change.

Pro subscriptions

• Pro is billed in advance, monthly or yearly, in US dollars, through Stripe. Taxes may be added where the law requires.
• Your subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until you cancel. You can cancel at any time from Manage billing; Pro then stays on until the end of the period you have paid for, and is not charged again.
• Refunds: if you are not happy, email us within 14 days of your first payment and we will refund it in full. Renewals are not refunded, but you can cancel before a renewal date to avoid the next charge.
• If a payment fails, Stripe retries it for a while. If it still fails, the account returns to the Free plan. Your guides are kept, but Pro features such as hosted video stop working.
• We will give at least 30 days' notice by email before changing the price of an existing subscription.

Your content

You own the guides you create. You are responsible for what they contain and for making sure you are allowed to record and share the pages and information shown in them. Do not record or share other people's personal or confidential information without permission.

Acceptable use

Do not use StepCast to break the law, to share harmful or misleading material, or to try to access other people's guides or accounts. Accounts that do may be removed.

Ending use

You can stop using StepCast and delete your guides at any time. StepCast may suspend accounts that break these terms, and may close the service with reasonable notice.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, StepCast is not liable for loss of data or other losses arising from using the service. Keep your own copies of anything important using Export video or Export guide page.
